April, 2007: Work completed: earthwork in excavation for foundation, sand pile casing work, hardcore filling, stone masonry work (compound wall), PCC (1:3:6), laying of reinforcement for raft slab, beam and column, R.C.C (1:1.5:3) for raft slab, R.C.C (1:1.5:3) for raft beam, brick work up to plinth beam, earth filling under plinth.

February, 2007: Work completed: PCC (portland cement concrete), Laying of reinforcement for raft slab, beam and column, RCC (Roller Compacted Concrete) for raft slab; in progress: RCC for raft beam. Up to this point 9% of the total has been complete, while 16% is in progress.

January, 2007: Work completed: hardcore material filling, rolling and density test of the second and third layers of the foundation.
December, 2006: Work completed: site clearance, earthwork in excavation for foundation, sand pile easing; work in progress: hardcore filling, stone masonry work for the compound wall (1.95m). These together comprise 10% of the total work.
November, 2006: Progress made in survey, material procurement, boundary walls, rolling of foundation base and gravel filling for foundation.

September, 2006: The construction work started on September 9, 2006.
July 7, 2006: Ground breaking ceremony was conducted by Rinpoche, attended by representatives of the monasteries of various countries. Rinpoche and participating monks and nuns blessed the ground through a series of chants starting with the practice of Vajrayogini. After breaking the ground and placing a Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha vase at the center of the site, Rinpoche made the keynote speech.

May 7, 2006: Contract between the Lumbini Development Trust and the United Trungram Buddhist Foundation, Nepal signed to develop LUM.
